Project Management

NMS offers management of newbuilding projects, including site supervision, plan approval and ship design evaluation & optimization for distinguished ship-owners. 

Substantial newbuilding experience with a reference list of more than 80 newbuildings, including specialized vessels such as Chemical and Gas carriers, Multi-purpose OSV and other offshore vessels.

Activities include:

• Project initiation & planning
• Plan approval/design appraisal
• Inspection & construction supervision
• Guarantee claim management

These activities are carried out by a team of naval architects, marine engineers, structural engineers and former seagoing staff with vast experience in their respective fields. Our prime focus is to ensure that the vessels are built according to contract, specifications, class, statutory and owner requirements.

Project Reporting

During the project period, NMS prepares reports according to clients’ requirements. Typically, project reports are prepared on a monthly basis containing details of the key elements of the project presented in a systematic way, with charts, figures, tables and digital photographs of the construction.

Document Control

NMS utilizes a unique project management system for document and project control in close cooperation between head office and site personnel. The system keeps track of drawings, comments given and implemented, reporting an accurate real time status of plan approval. This is a vital tool ensuring all comments reported during the plan approval stage are actually built into the vessel.

All work is executed in accordance with NMS' Project Procedure Manual, prepared with the ISO9002 standard as a basis..
